Blood Tokoloshe (2013)

englanti The South African film Blood Tokoloshe is by no means perfect, but therein lies the beauty of it. There are various mistakes, the actors are not really convincing, but the whole thing has a strange, bizarre atmosphere that can entertain. The film pretends to be serious, but you get the feeling the entire time that this is in fact not the case. I really liked the film Blood Tokoloshe because it managed to captivate me with its specific execution.

Tremors: A Cold Day in Hell (2018)

englanti You probably won't find anything groundbreaking about Tremors: A Cold Day in Hell. It's a film made more so for fans of the franchise, but even they may be disappointed by the fact that nothing groundbreaking actually happens, except for the storyline with Burt, which ultimately doesn't really advance the character anywhere. It all ends up as a standard B-movie, playing on a lighter note rather than anything serious. It was good enough for me to consider it average.

Luokkakokous (1982)

englanti The American film Class Reunion is not a great comedy and has quite a few dead spots. But it's a parody of the genre, a parody that isn't outright explosive, but it's clear from the start that the author knew the rules of slasher films and followed them, or rather, subverted them to suit himself. Yet the plot is not great and the characters are so lazy and sometimes downright annoying. As a comedy, however, it works.

Forsaken (2016)

englanti I think it's quite a shame that Forsaken won’t win over audiences, because I believe it had potential. The scene with Emily in the hospital is actually very uncomfortable to watch, because it's filmed quite well and Emily had great casting even in her dark version. Unfortunately, the one scene that appears on the poster won't save the film.

Find Me (2014)

englanti Ultimately, Find Me is a weak and unimaginative attempt to make a horror film, with not a single scene that really hits the mark. The potential that lies in the signs that appear to the protagonist is ultimately killed, though it still remains perhaps the most interesting element. Even so, the film will probably only make you sigh with boredom.

Cannibal Diner (2012)

englanti German horror filmmakers are often known for aiming for unrealistic depictions of violence, but always as detailed and indirectly as possible. But that's not the case at all in Cannibal Diner, which focuses more on the main character experiencing it, and every now and then there's a shot of something a little grittier, but honestly, I didn't see anything here that was going to get to me. You’d tend expect something very different from a film like this.

Winchester: The House That Ghosts Built (2018)

englanti Winchester has moments that are classic jump scares that can work. But can someone explain to me how the Spierig brothers managed to make a film about such a bizarre mansion that actually exists, but were unable to give it any sort of atmosphere? Even the movie poster has that vibe, but Helen Mirren in black simply isn't enough. This didn't work out and it’s just a horror B-movie that doesn't entice with anything.

Dr. Jekyll and Sister Hyde (1971)

englanti The British horror film Dr. Jekyll and Sister Hyde will take you back to a slightly different time, a time when horror was made in a slightly different way. It also has a pleasant retro style, it's well shot and it's really sexy in places. Martin Beswick is simply doing his thing in this regard. It is great to watch, and the story isn’t boring either. I have to say that Hammer Studio has quite a few treasures I haven't seen yet.

I Had a Bloody Good Time at House Harker (2016)

englanti If you want to see I Had a Bloody Good Time at House Harker, don't expect much from it. You might then be surprised at what you end up seeing. It's clear that the trio of Haugen, Givens and Carroll have worked superbly together over the years and their humor works. For me, I Had a Bloody Good Time at House Harker is a good horror comedy for the first time in a while.

Fractured (2015)

englanti Fractured is an American psychological horror film where the emphasis is on the psychological rather than the horror itself, which, if it is even there at all, appears more in the form of violence and the fear of the heroine not knowing what will happen. And neither does the viewer. The ending tries to be a little too unnecessarily convoluted and wannabe clever, which it hints at, but I still think this is a watchable film.
