The horror film The Strangers: Prey at Night isn't a great sequel, it doesn't really have much to offer in terms of the script, but it stays on the safe side, which is enough in this case for me. The film focuses on certainty, which is quite fine. It’s a certainty that doesn't offend and one that you're quite happy to put up with because there are scenes that are a bit chilling and can affect you in the right way. For me, it was good enough for slightly above average.

It Lives Again isn't a great movie, but if you happen to watch it at the right moment, it's a movie you can enjoy, a movie where there's something creepy trying to get the characters, something that brings subconscious dread because, and despite its monstrosity, it's a story that has a relatively real basis in the fear of parenthood, a fear that can be paralyzing.

The American horror film Tell Me How I Die is not exactly original, but that doesn't really matter. It's sort of a pleasant mainstream film, where you won't mind the actors, and in fact you will experience more and more minutes with them in anticipation of how it will all actually turn out. I can imagine that the film will both not disappoint nor entice audiences.

I think Bret Roberts tries a little too hard and I didn't like his character, which is quite a problem when he's on set for most of the film. The intention to make a B-movie that is brutal, bloody and perverted, or even a bit fetishistic, wasn't bad. It was in fact quite successful, but in this case it was in a way that didn't work for me at all and I actually suffered through watching the film.

Devil's Possessed is not a horror film. There simply aren't enough elements here to make the film a true horror film. You can see that the filmmakers were quite fond of the scenes in the knight's arena, but even here you won't find anything that would really blow you away. There’s nothing literal - all the grittier stuff happens off-camera. I admit that I expected much more from a movie with Paul Naschy.

The American film Demon House is definitely not something that could fascinate me, but while having only a small crew and a few people overall, Zak Bagans managed to make a mockumentary that definitely didn't manage to piss me off, which these films usually do. It's well thought out, it's cheap, it's predictable, but it's tolerable, which in this case meant it was about average for me.

The horror film Superbeast is not really a very good horror film, if it is indeed a horror film at all, and in fact it's simply a cheap variation on The Island of Dr. Moreau. What's worse is that it doesn't even work as an action movie, because the action scenes are awful and there aren't many of them, and instead we get more conversational and incredibly boring scenes. When it comes to masks, you already know that you won't be getting any super monsters here.

The British film Seizure plays on the fact that one woman is more of a danger to several men than they are to her, because they have no idea what they're messing with and what they've gotten themselves into. This is a strong element, but one that was basically only used to film a couple of pretty passable scenes with the demonic woman, but even those aren't scenes that will make you take notice, not to mention that the film isn’t about the masks.

The American horror film Jonah Lives is a standard example of a bad independent production. Dozens of similar films come out in a year, and if you happen to avoid it, you won't regret it. If you do come into contact with the film, you probably won't be significantly harmed, but you won't have a great experience either. You can suffer through the film or simply watch it as a backdrop for other work.

The Italian film Death Smiles at Murder also tries at times to achieve a certain form of explicitness which is not beyond the bounds of taste and is bearable even for weaker characters. The period setting, appropriate scenery and well-filmed horror scenes with Eve Aulin are truly good. Even today, the film is able to impress audiences, which in my opinion is an example of a quality production.
