Pyewacket suffers from the fact that it essentially fails to build up any scene, except perhaps the one where the mother and daughter argue with each other. As far as horror goes, it's kind of a linear bore from beginning to end that's bearable, but doesn't deliver anything that can pull you in. Even the performances don't really save it. You won't remember the plot of the film for very long after finishing it.

The British science-fiction horror The Projected Man is not a downright surprising film, as it follows a pretty clear template of a scientist taking revenge for not being able to achieve what he wanted and destroying himself with his own experiment. Nevertheless, the filmmakers managed to combine science fiction with horror quite well, and the horror is in fact quite visual. When Steiner presents himself in his new form, even today it has quite an effect.

A Dark Song has more of a horror feel to it than actually being a horror film. Its finale is rather philosophical or even metaphysical, which, I must admit, didn't quite do it for me. Before then there was potential for what could have been a good psychological drama, but that ultimately didn't happen. Still, it's definitely a film that can be watched without doing you any harm.

The co-production The Hallow is an atmospheric yet explicit film, a film where horror is presented in both psychological and visual forms. And it works for me. The atmosphere is complemented by a very gritty execution, which eventually builds up into a very unpleasant, in parts even symbolic ending, which has an almost childishly horror finish in the credits.

It can’t be said that the Japanese vampire horror Lake of Dracula is particularly gory, but towards the end there are gradually more scenes that are well shot and not afraid to show something ugly. It's not bad at all for 1971, not to mention the fact that overall it’s fun to watch and doesn’t bore even after the long years that have passed since it was made.

America has many of its own problems. But the documentary caught my attention mainly because there are many similar ones that draw attention to the issues that exist in society - not just in the American one - but we basically just watch them. Maybe that's how it's supposed to be.

The werewolf mask in Night Howl looks more like a suit that the filmmakers borrowed from a theater or one that can be ordered for a fancy dress party. This is something that can spoil your impression of the film, and unfortunately, the overall film is so bad that you won't enjoy watching it anyway. If this was something you filmed with your friends and wanted to watch it, then why not? But that should be as far as it goes.

The British horror film Doctor Blood's Coffin is not an action spectacle, which is the main problem with this film. It can lull you to sleep, which is simply bad. Horror should never be able to do that. Some scenes can indeed wake you up or scare you if you really are a big scaredy-cat, and you might find that you like the passable mask, but that's about it. This film will probably not even be average for you.

The American film Joker's Wild is nothing special and not even Eric Roberts can save it, who took up quite a bit of space for himself, although he could have easily done his part in an hour or two. The plot is as transparent as underwear that you’ve washed a hundred times and the dialogues were probably improvised or written during a bathroom break. Even so, it is better not to watch the film than to spend a few minutes on it and condemn it outright.

I don't want to say that Sharktopus vs. Whalewolf doesn't have a target audience, and it's possible that some people will enjoy it and find some scenes funny, but overall the film doesn't have much to offer. Even the actors joked around and didn't try very hard. Not all of them, but Casper Van Dien simply does plays the role expected of him - a pompous jerk who tries to be funny but fails.
