After serving time for the attempted murder of a District Attorney, disgraced former cop Joe Denton returns home looking for redemption. An embarrassment to his parents and abandoned by his ex-wife, it seems as if things can't get much worse. But then Joe finds himself trapped in the mess he left behind - in the cross fire between a crooked sheriff, the vengeful DA, and a mafia kingpin who knows too much. I was looking forward to Nikolaj Corster-Waldau and was happy when he finally entered the screen. Unfortunately, his character came from jail, and got beaten up every time he showed up. It was so over the top that it bordered on embarrassing. The film went to such extremes to be more “film-like” that it was actually just becoming crazier and crazier. In the end, Nikolaj is the only thing in the film worth watching, while the rest is crap.

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau is quite funny in the film, albeit in a pretty brutal sense. It can definitely be said that the film is close to brutality, which is what suits it and makes it somewhat intriguing. Good actors managed to bring even the supporting characters to life, making the film not exactly thrilling, but definitely watchable, with the anticipation of how things will turn out.
