Awkward surburban teenager Nic Wooding wants to be the greatest badminton player in the world, much to the dismay of his demanding father, a former tennis champion. Meanwhile, their last remaining white neighbours have moved away and are replaced by the Cheongs, a Chinese man with his 16-year-old daughter, Jenny.
