Biografia

Lothar Herzog, born in Freiburg, Germany, grew up in Paris. He studied Applied Cultural Studies in Hildesheim and San Francisco. He took part in theatre productions and produced video installations for theatre and concerts. Then, he studied directing at the German Film & Television Academy (dffb) in Berlin. His short films were presented at numerous international film festivals (among others at the Berlin International Film Festival and in Cannes).

Further he is working as a trainer for filmworkshops and as a coordinator of international seminars. In 2016 he shot the feature film ‘Woods’ (WT) on location in Belarus and Lithuania in cooperation with Berlin based production company Rohfilm and the TV-channels WDR (Westdeutscher Rundfunk) and ARTE. The project so far also received funding from the Robert Bosch Foundation, MDM (Mitteldeutsche Medienförderung) and FFA (German Federal Filmboard).
