Biografia

Zachary Baharov was born in 1980 in Sofia. He went in for acting while at high school by accident and in 1997 entered Boncho Urumov's theater studio at Slavyanska Beseda Community Center. A year later he was admitted to the National Academy for Theatre and Film Arts in Prof. Nadezhda Seykova's class.

Zachary Baharov's first role on the professional stage was Capulet in Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet directed by Liliya Abadzhieva. Next came several tours to Plovdiv and Haskovo. Since 2003 he has been on Ivan Vazov National Theatre's company where some of his roles are: John in Neil LaBute's Bash directed by Snezhina Tankovska; Duncan in Eugène Ionesco's Macbett directed by Plamen Markov; Popcheto in Exiles after Ivan Vazov directed by Aleksandar Morfov; Vasko in Kamen Donev's A Day Off; Bridaine in Alfred de Musset's No Trifling with Love directed by Marius Kurkinski; characters in The Gun will go off after the Intermission after Chekhov directed by Tedi Moskov; Borkin in Ivanov after Chekhov directed by Margarita Mladneova.

He is an Icarus 2008 nominee for an Actor in a Leading Role for his play in Javor Gardev's production of The Old Woman from Calcutta after Hanoch Levin. He has been awarded Icarus 2007 for an Actor in a Supporting Role for Sganarelle in Molière's Don Juan directed by Aleksandar Morfov and Askeer 2006 for an Actor in a Supporting Role for the Fool in Shakespear's King Lear directed by Javor Gardev. The role of the Moth in Zift was his first serious featuring in a film.
