Ladj Ly

Ladj Ly won a César nomination for Best Short Film with Les misérables (2017). Two years later he presented his first feature film, based on that short and with the same title, at the Cannes Festival, which honoured him with the Jury prize, ex aequo together with the Brazilian film Bacurau (Juliano Dornelles, Kleber Mendonça Filho).
