Phil Lorin spent half a dozen years as a San Francisco Police Officer, writing animated, borderline perjurious police reports for district attorneys before realizing he needed a bigger audience. In 2003, his first feature-length screenplay earned him and his writing partner, Kiel Murray, positions as writers on the Disney/Pixar animated film, CARS. Since then, the duo has brought into the world three offspring and two short films under their Oakland-based startup, Stonehouse Pictures.
