Nely Reguera studied filmmaking at the Escuela Superior de Cine y Audiovisuales de Cataluña (ESCAC). In 2005 she made the documentary Muxía a ferida, about the consequences of the Prestige catastrophe, and in 2009 the short film Pablo, selected for and presented with awards at numerous festivals (Alcine, Gijón, Huesca, Mecal, Versión Española-SGAE Competition). Since 2010 she has been collaborating with the Cine en curso project. She also teaches at the ESCAC. María (y los demás) is her first film.
