Andrés Almeida

Born in Mexico City in 1977, his life has oscillated between acting, music, and painting. He began his professional career under the guidance of Jaime Humberto Hermosillo and since then has worked on multiple film and television projects with some of Mexico's most important directors. Some of his most outstanding performances include Alfonso Cuarón's Y tu Mamá También, Alejandro González Iñárritu's Bardo, Carlos Cuarón's Rudo y Cursi, Mariana Chenillo's Paraíso, and Manolo Caro's La Vida Inmoral de la Pareja Ideal, films that have taken him to international festivals such as Venice, Toronto, Sundance, San Sebastián, Morelia, and Cartagena. He has also participated in the successful television series Los Héroes del Norte, Narcos México, Diablo Guardián and 100 Días Para Enamorarnos. Almeida began his career in Spain with the projects Reyes Contra Santa and the series Zorro. His work has earned him international recognition such as Best Actor at the Festival du Cinéma Latino-Américain in Montreal and Best Ensemble Performance at the Festival de Cine Las Américas for El Lenguaje de los Machetes, by Kyzza Terrazas, as well as the Ariel for Best Actor in a Minor Role for Tiempo Compartido, by Sebastián Hofmann. He has also scored the original music for the films Luto, Me Casé con un Idiota and La Nave, while his songs have appeared in projects such as Club de Cuervos, Te Presento a Laura, La Otra Familia and No Eres Tú Soy Yo. As art director, he made the feature film Coapa Heights and the short film Todos los Aviones del Mundo.
