Biografia

Larry Brand was born in Manhattan, New York, and grew up in Queens. Brand attended Forest Hills High School and City College of New York, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. After moving to Los Angeles, Brand's first job in the film industry was as driver and production assistant to Orson Welles.

He went on to make several feature films for legendary indie producer Roger Corman, including THE DRIFTER, which he wrote, directed, and co-starred in with Kim Delaney and Timothy Bottoms. As a writer, his films include the horror sequel HALLOWEEN RESURRECTION, starring Jamie Lee Curtis, Busta Rhymes and Sean Patrick Thomas; HARD LUCK, a neo-noir thriller starring Wesley Snipes, Cybill Shepherd, and Mario Van Peebles; and MEN ARE DOGS, a romantic drama set in Amsterdam, starring Jeanne Tripplehorn and Liev Schreiber, and directed by CHRISTINA producer Kees Van Oostrum. Brand was shooting his second project for 8180 Films, a feature-length documentary on atheism in America.

Awards for Brand include "Best Director" and "Best Film" at the 2010 Buffalo-Niagara Film Festival, "Outstanding Achievement in Filmmaking" at the 2010 Newport Beach Film Festival, and "Outstanding Achievement in Writing" at VisionFestX in New York City, June 2010, all for Christina.
