Biografia

Documentary filmmaker and producer. He studied Filmmaking at the London International Film School, and worked as an assistant director for Carlos Saura, Fernando Trueba, Jaime Chávarri, Alain Tanner and Víctor Erice. Since 1994 he has produced and directed more than forty documentaries, including Storm the Skies (Time of History’s second prize at the 41st edition of Seminci as well as the winner of an Ondas Award), Un instante en la vida ajena (Goya for Best Documentary 2004 ) or Extras (Goya for Best Short Documentary 2005). In addition, he won the Goya for Best Cinematography with Iberia (Carlos Saura, 2005), premiered at the 50th Seminci. Other films by López-Linares have also screened at the festival, such as Sherry & the Mystery of Palo Cortado (2015), the highly acclaimed Bosch: The Garden of Dreams (2016), Altamira: el origen del arte (2018) and Spain: The First Globalization (2021), the most watched documentary of the year in Spain.
