Klaus Härö

Klaus Härö studied directing and attended screenwriting seminars at the University of Industrial Arts in Helsinki. He has directed four feature films Elina: As If I Wasn’t There (2002), Mother of Mine (2005) and The New Man (2007), Letters to Father Jacob (2009) as well as documentaries and short films. His films have won more than 60 prizes in festivals all over the world, and they have been successful with both critics and audiences.

In 2003 Klaus Härö was awarded the Ingmar Bergman prize, the winner of which is chosen by Ingmar Bergman himself. Härö’s first two features were chosen to represent Finland in the best foreign film category at the Oscars.
