Nguyen Hoang Diep (1982, Hanoi, Vietnam) is one of the prominent figures in Vietnamese independent cinema. Upon graduating from the School of Cinema and Theatre in Hanoi where she majored in film directing in 2004, she worked for an advertising agency before dropping anchor in cinema. In 2008 she founded Vblock Media, an independent production company that specializes in art films and experimental projects. She has directed several short films and documentaries. Flapping in the Middle of Nowhere is her debut produced by Vblock Media.
