Monty Pythonin lentävä sirkus

Monty Pythonin lentävä sirkus (1969)

I don't even think this is worth commenting on. All right, fine. Imagine the craziest humor, preferably English, you have ever encountered. And then imagine that the humor is standing on its head, bouncing backwards and pushing off the ground with its ears. That's roughly Monty Python's Flying Circus. It's genius, a masterpiece. And it's also a terrible bit of none-sense and disgustingness full of bizarre perversions and excremental shenanigans worthy of a fourth-rate intellectual with papers on his head.__My favorite Python: John Cleese.__My favorite sketch: Dennis Moore.

The Road Runner Show

The Road Runner Show (1966)

Wile E. Coyote is one of the most essential characters in film history for me. And not only the animated version. An irresistible, indefatigable, almost Don Quixote-like furry who keeps trying (we all know what I mean)... And who you can't help but cheer for. My favorite moments are those when the poor, 100% convinced hunter is already approaching the desired feathered target, but all it takes is one little thing (followed by an eloquent "Oh, God..." look) and "beep-beep", and then everything is set in motion. Whether the coyote is falling into chasms, decorating the bumpers of cars and trains with his frightened snout, suffering under tons of boulders, burnt, frozen, broken or just plain and simply disgusted, he never gives up. When you cross the fate of Sisyphus and the vicious obstinacy of Edmund Blackadder, who do you get? Yes, it's furry, it's gloriously mean, and it has a lifetime deal with ACME.

Simpsonit

Simpsonit (1989)

Yellow madness, who wouldn't be affected? The Simpsons is the cult classic of all cult classics. True, they’ve run out of steam in the last few seasons and start ripping themselves off a bit, but it's still unbeatable fun. The best fun "something" made in the USA.

M*A*S*H – armeijan kenttäsairaala

M*A*S*H – armeijan kenttäsairaala (1972)

I can watch M*A*S*H anytime and anywhere. A series packed with jokes, but, unlike what many say, it doesn't make fun of the war, it takes the war deadly serious. But for some people, humour is a better weapon than a gun.

Columbo

Columbo (1971)

What should I write here? The lieutenant is a legend - him and everything that comes with him. His car, his dog named Dog, his wife who no one has ever seen, his first name that no one knows, his battered Peugeot... All of this contrasts with Columbo's brain being more powerful than NASA's computers. The guy is simply a knockout, not to be underestimated. "Uh, sorry, I forgot... It's such a small thing, but it keeps me awake. Purely for the paperwork, you understand? Yeah, what did I..."

The Umbrella Academy

The Umbrella Academy (2019)

After what they did in episode six, I wanted to bite the creator in anger, but on the other hand, I laughed at the cynical joke for quite a long time, and from this episode until the end, Umbrella Academy didn't have a single mistake. Not that it was missing anything from the start, but it really stepped on the gas in the second half. This series has made me very happy mainly with how different it is, how strange it is... And how the otherness and weirdness endured to the very end. As in the book, there are a lot of things going on here, but it doesn't mean you will get an explanation right away. Just like in the book, the characters here are superbly incongruous, full of their own traumas, with complicated interrelationships... When they want to, they entertain you, they make you feel, and there's no shortage of surprises. And for those who know the books and are looking forward to Poga... Go ahead and look forward!
