Isku Kolombiaan (1994)

englanti The best Ford-Ryan outing with absolutely perfect scenes, among which stands out especially (yes, yes) the convoy ambush. Willem Dafoe as Clark is flawless as well. The screenwriters have cut Clancy's story down considerably (especially the opening passage on the ship is a pity), but whatever. Five!

Todistaja (1985)

englanti Simply a great film, one of those I saw once as a kid and whose amazing atmosphere I will never forget. Excellent Ford, great direction, music, subtle humor, suspense....not the best Weir, but very good for sure. "Lady, you take my picture with that thing and I'm gonna rip your brassiere off... and strangle you with it!"__"Did you hear what that Amish just said to me?"

Lonely Hearts (2006)

englanti If for nothing else, the scene between John Travolta and Salma Hayek makes this film very much worth seeing. But don't worry, it's excellent throughout, it just has a few slower (but not boring) parts.

Bandidas (2006)

englanti Two beautiful babes in a banal story with a lot of jokes, Steve Zahn without being awkward, Sam Shepardm who unfortunately only flashes, and the charismatic Dwight Yoakam, who I didn't know until then... Fantastic easygoing entertainment!

Kätketty ase (1975)

englanti Definitely a five-star affair. The Old Gun is exactly the kind of film that could only be made in France. Rough, raw, it hides nothing, and it has no regard for the viewer. Doctor Dandieu is Noiret's best role and you believe in everything he does (if Romy Schneider were my wife, I'd go and shake the whole of Berlin dry for her), and you cheer and cheer. An intimate war drama with top-notch performances, suspenseful scenes and human emotions that do not feel mechanical. This film should be cherished, because there are not many like it.

Galaxy Quest (1999)

englanti The thing I like about Galaxy Quest is that, although many people call it a parody, it is something completely different. It's a tribute to the sci-fi genre as such, especially Star Trek, which it doesn't just cheaply make fun of. I hope it's not just me, but every minute of GQ is filled with this great admiration for all those Captain Kirks and Picards... and that's the way it should be. It's hard to list which of the actors is the best - every single one of them does something incredible! Oh, and... of course it's a parody!

Hollow Man (2000)

englanti Maybe the weakest Verhoeven film I’ve seen, but still a blast worthy of three and a half stars. The effects are impressive, the action is gripping, Goldsmith's music is darkly frightening... This film made me start to like Kevin Bacon.

Pat Garrett ja Billy the Kid (1973)

englanti The film earned full stars from me, among other things, because I saw it in the movie theater, thanks to God and thanks to the Pilsen Film Club! Peckinpah's opus about two guys who are just the way they are, and nobody can do anything about it, is a western gem. I love Dylan's soundtrack (and I don't mean the old “Knockin' on Heavens Door").

Balladi Cable Hoguesta (1970)

englanti The title of the film makes it clear what mood it will be in and how it will end, but does it matter? Nope. The five stars are well deserved - Sam, no matter how much he may or may not have been stoned, managed to make an uncharacteristic, yet damn good film, and one that is not typical for him. Jason Robards is an incredibly likable dirt-bag who you just have to root for, David Warner is not so likable, but he's great just the same, and Stella Stevens, she's a beautiful ornament. The best scene, however, comes at the very beginning. The opening perfect title sequence, in which Cable is making his way across the desert with Jerry Goldsmith playing... Those who have not seen and heard should catch up. One of my top films, one of my top soundtracks.

Majuri Dundee (1965)

englanti Butcher Sam is just getting warmed up, but the sensational casting of all three leads makes this film a big deal as well. Watch the Director’s Cut, not the cropped up TV version.
