The opening episode perfectly captures the overall atmosphere and flow of the anime. For the first time in my life, I saw a series in which I didn't mind that the story and the plot itself were pushed aside in favor of the perfect conveying the message of the scene and the emotions that the characters are currently experiencing. Fumetsu no Anata e already had a very good start on the theme of immortality versus the transience of human life, until in the next series, quite ironically, it began to lose itself in its own aimlessness. Fortunately, Frieren has so far managed to avoid that problem and is on the track to become one of the most unique projects of today, be it characters, theme, music, animation, or awakened emotions that will remain in you after watching each episode. It's a very intelligent and original sci-fi thriller. The first season is episodic and slowly builds up the tension and rules of how this world's time travel works to culminate in one of the craziest cliffhangers I've ever seen. The second series has a closed plot of one case, but the building of tension and plot is handled in a similar, if not better, way. All the characters are written very well and easy to like, the animation is at a high level as expected from Haoliners, and the music is chosen superbly. You really can't find anything substantial to criticize here. 24/24 - 100%

I'm always very pleased when a movie or series appears that, despite everything I've seen, manages to surprise me with an original plot and characters. The opening episode is a perfect example of how to create a narrative hook, give the basics of the past to the main characters, and determine their goals at the same time. The criminal plot taking place in the background of other episodes subsequently provides an element of constant tension while the issue of show business becomes the central motif. A topic that doesn't interest me at all, but if it's presented through fully drawn characters that I should care about, then it doesn't matter. Maybe I'll go back to Akasaki's Kaguya, which didn't catch my interest in the first season, and I'll watch the rest... 11/11 - 100%
