American Made (2017)

englanti Tom Cruise is showing us all that he is an entertaining actor and that he does what he does well. He chooses his films so as not to ruin his image, but I simply enjoy watching him, which is great. He’s lost none of his abilities, and this film is still so beautifully sarcastic that I simply had to be entertained.

Darling (2015)

englanti Darling is a pretty good film, but the story presented here is very banal at its core. It is thus evident that the form was prioritized, while the content was not as important because the creators believed that it would be the design that would carry the audience as much as possible. However, I think it's a shame that the form wasn't used to make the story a little bit better.

Play Motel (1979)

englanti I’m not reviewing Play Motel as a horror film, but rather as an erotic film, because it works that way, not so much as a horror film, because there's not enough suspense and there's no real mystery. Play Motel pretends to be a giallo, but the detective story isn't strong enough for that, and it's not delivered in a gripping enough way to make you follow the plot more than the nudity.

That '80s Show (2002) (sarja)

englanti It's nowhere near as good as That '70s Show, but I think if the show was given a chance, there's room for it to not be complete rubbish, just a mere offshoot of something that already exists. Some of the characters, especially Tuesday, appeared quite interesting, but even the 13 episodes that aired couldn't really awaken their potential.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi (2017)

englanti It lacks a little something to achieve perfection, but I was looking forward to Luke and I got him in a form I liked. His finale is breathtaking. Likewise, the film contains some excellent scenes and there is not much to fault in any of the space or personal fights. The script also surprises with new moments, as well as a desire to pay homage to past films from the series. I think the fans got what they deserved, and even a little more to boot.

Supernatural - Season 12 (2016) (kausi)

englanti I have to admit that with the eleventh and twelfth seasons, Supernatural got quite a bit better again. The beauty of it is that the brothers don't try to die unnecessarily, there are new characters and even some returning ones you might not expect. It’s true that the last episode of the series felt very far-fetched, but I’m pretty curious to see what the aftermath will be and what the thirteenth season will offer. It could still get very interesting.

Kuoleman mannekiinit (1979)

englanti The film Tourist Trap is an example of a film of its time. Tobe Hooper pointed the way with his The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and other filmmakers followed. David Schmoeller didn’t make a downright great film, but I don't think it’s downright bad either. The human-sized puppets were able to inspire terror, which I think is the main thing you should expect from a horror film.

Detroit (2017)

englanti This is a film that's just formally well made, but it turns out that Bigelow puts more focus on the story until it leaves the motel. After that it's just kind of a necessity that doesn't have the right drive and seems to simply fade out. Besides, the main point was said in the motel by the actions of those involved.

The Bad Batch (2016)

englanti The Bad Batch is a film to watch if you want to see something unconventional, intense, with strong characters and a gritty plot that will hit you hard. The film softens a little here and there, but you still get the feeling that it's something really rough. However, if you want to see a horror film, look elsewhere. This is gritty and animalistic, but not horror.

Fright Flick (2011)

englanti If you are going to want to see Fright Flick, it's probably only for the gore, which is indeed very amateurish, but every now and then there's a scene that makes you think that the filmmakers did try and didn't completely just give up on it. It's maybe one scene, maybe two, but at least it's something, because otherwise there's really nothing in the film. The picture is also of pretty poor quality, so the technique wasn't very good either, which unfortunately goes hand in hand with the rest.
