From the Frying-Pan Into the Fire

This is just lovely. A so-called film outside the mainstream, yet an integral part of the early years of sound film. The unusually cast comedy From the Frying-Pan Into the Fire gave a great opportunity to Fanda Mrázek, a comedian on the rise at the time. His style of humor often makes numerous scenes and situations present even in the oldest sound spectacles, and he doesn't let us down even in the 1950s when his little etudes can brighten up even the least successful building mistakes. This is what we first see in the film about three comedians, Mrázek, Kohout, and Plachta, with the fairer sex represented by the charming Grosslichtová and Šárková in their best years and cutest models. The chosen environment alone is blissful. The studio presents an interesting coloring of a racing machine, through which people pass the periphery and exteriors choose, then and now, very attractive shots of Prague. The adventures of the eloquent chauffeur, who really has no luck with either property or love, are just the cherry on top in an enticing and even spicy encounter with the authentic atmosphere of the 1930s without the glycerine tears and the scarves of papier-mâché art or other decoration.
