Marilyn Monroe... No, I'm not going to sing an ode to her beauty... Because she ruined this whole movie for me. Her squealing naive doll is annoying in a way that I just couldn't get over. I never considered her a sex symbol and I never will - and certainly not an actress. I'm not saying that The Seven Year Itch is unwatchable. Tom Ewell, with whom I haven't seen a single film so far, pleasantly surprised me, Wilder's script really made me laugh at several moments ("Until you're capable of terrorizing someone, I advise you to avoid something as complex as murder."), but... You know.
