Flyfishing

I like English humor and I usually rate English comedies highly, but this one was a weird sort of hybrid. A British comedy full of American humor. Well, humor... I found it all rather unfunny. Everything revolved around a single, rather bizarre situation, which I didn't really get. Possible spoiler: if I understood correctly, Helen wasn't upset by the truth about what Phil did for a living, but about whom he’d slept with before he met her. I don't know; either it was a lapse in logic, or I see these things differently. Is everyone really supposed to keep lists of people (best case scenario) they've ever hooked up with, and then show those lists to each other to see if there are any names that would be a dealbreaker for the relationship? As I said, I don't get it. The big reveal was followed by a lengthy, extremely boring part. It did help fill the running time, but there was no other point to it. Not to mention the half-baked, generic ending. It wasn't a good experience, and the two stars are a sign of my boundless benevolence. / Lesson learned: Be careful who you let close to you. 2*- (30.09.2022)
