A dark vampire romance with horror veterans Barbara Crampton and Larry Fessenden. It's not bad at all. The plot unfolds slowly, but it gains quite decent momentum towards the end. The acting is fine, considering the lower budget, the atmosphere doesn't captivate much, but there is a reasonable amount of blood (plenty of blood spraying from the carotid arteries). The rats crawling around the house are also interesting, and there are some quite interesting music choices. It's been a while since there was a vampire movie, and even though there's still room for improvement, I don't have any significant issues with it, and Jakob's Wife will receive an average rating from me. 5.5/10.
