It is widely believed that the millionaire uncle of the heavily indebted teacher raising two girls to be married lives in America. The uncle suddenly appears. He is beggarly poor, but he has no time to announce this, soon new creditors, supporters and adventurers appear, among them the young lawyer Szekeres Jenő, suitor to one of the girls. Szekeres manages the uncle in a way, so that him, the family, even the city would benefit form the anticipated millions.
