Alice (Pugh) ja Jack (Styles) ovat onnekkaita saadessaan asua idyllisessä Victory-yhteisössä, joka on kokeellinen asuinalue huippusalaiselle Victory Projectille työskenteleville miehille ja heidän perheilleen. Toimitusjohtaja Frank (Pine) – visionääri ja elämäntapavalmentaja – kannattaa 1950-luvun yhteiskunnallista optimismia ja ankkuroi sen osaksi tiiviin erämaautopian jokaista arjen hetkeä. Samalla, kun aviomiehet viettävä päivät Victory Projectin päämajassa työskennellen ”edistyksellisten materiaalien kehityksen” parissa, heidän vaimonsa – mukaanlukien Frankin tyylikäs kumppani Shelley (Chan) – saavat viettää aikaa nauttien yhteisönsä kauneudesta, luksuksesta ja elostelusta. Elämä on täydellistä, kun yritys täyttää kaikkien asukkaiden tarpeet. Heidän tulee vain vastapalveluksena omistautua kyselemättä Victoryn aatteelle.
