Why? That’s the question that Evald Schorm posed, and he set out to answer why the Czechoslovak population is aging. The sensitive camera work by Jan Špata draws us into the apartments of families with children, as well as to hospitals where abortions are performed. A pervasive social probe revealed dismal living conditions, primarily of the younger generation. (Ji.hlava International Documentary Film Festival)

I'm classically traumatized. A gender-fragile theme told with Schorm-Špáta poetics. Again the grotesqueness where it didn't need to be, and again the statements of ordinary people who lose their train of thought in the middle of a sentence. The ethics are still of course the same, as are the reasons. And if I believed that today's generation is any wiser, that would be very naive of me.
