Drakun poppoo on täällä taas - mutta nyt aivan uudenlaisissa kuvioissa elokuvassa Hotel Transylvania: Monsterimania. Lähde jälleen suosikkihirviöidesi matkaan upouudessa seikkailussa, jossa Dracula joutuu toistaiseksi hirmuisimman haasteen eteen. Kun Van Helsingin arvoituksellinen keksintö "Monsterisaatiosäde" panee kaiken mullin mallin, Draku ja hänen monsteriystävänsä muuttuvat ihmisiksi ja Johnnystä tulee hirviö! Uusissa, epämukavissa olomuodoissaan Draculan, joka on menettänyt taikavoimansa, ja riemukkaan Johnnyn, joka nauttii täysillä monsteriudestaan, tulee yhdistää voimansa ja kiiruhtaa maapallon halki löytääkseen vastalääkkeen, ennen kuin on liian myöhäistä - ja ennen kuin he ajavat toisensa sekopäisyyden partaalle. The monsters turn into people, Johnny turns into a monster, and everyone has to learn that family is the most important thing in the world, even if sometimes the members don't get along. The fourth Hotel Transylvania film does what the previous three did, only that in those, the grotesque and excess worked a lot better than it did this time. At times, this sequel feels like a film where they decided not to try any new ideas and made a ninety-minute remix of what worked last time plus added on some screaming and yelling. Transformania is probably the most screaming movie I've ever seen. But if you still can't get enough of this bunch, you might be satisfied. It plays it safe so much that I was regularly bored for the first time. And it’s actually quite annoying.

Although I’ve never been a big fan of the Hotel Transylvania films and consider them mainly as something easygoing intended primarily for younger audiences, they managed to entertain me and make feel me tense at times. Unfortunately, the fourth outing killed the otherwise interesting theme with the transformation of the characters and almost ruined the comedy, and also the action side of the film. The character of Johnny is more annoying than ever, and if it weren't for a few scenes with the old Murray, I wouldn't bat an eyelid. The final lesson is lost in the end like tears in the rain.
