Żelazny most

Mine foreman Kacper is carrying on an affair with employee Oskar’s wife Magda. In order to ensure his meetings with Magda go undetected, Kacper routinely assigns Oskar to work the deepest and most remote coal seams in the operation. Then one of the lovers’ assignations is interrupted by a phone call: After a powerful explosion, the company has lost contact with all the miners working underground, including Oskar. Guilt and remorse overcome Kacper and Magda, who break off their relationship as efforts to save the trapped miners get underway. But whether their penance will be sufficient - and whether Oskar will live to forgive them - remains to be seen in this tense Polish drama from writer/director Monika Jordan-Młodzianowska.
