Englantilaisessa pikkukaupungissa asuvan muusikko Jack Malikin (Himesh Patel) haaveet tähteydestä ovat haihtumassa ilmaan, vaikka lapsuudenystävä Ellie (Lily James) jaksaakin sinnikkäästi kannustaa häntä.
