Looking for something to do during winter break, the kids of a small Quebec village decide to have a massive snowball fight. After first disagreeing over the rules and some of the kids deciding not to participate, Luc, on the advice of his best friend, Jacques, decides to force the issue and goads the other team into participating under the leadership of Sophie. The children decide that the winning team is whichever one occupies the massive, elaborate snow fort at the end of the holiday. Tensions between the two teams begin to escalate quickly, as both teams are determined to attack and defend to the bitter end. After days of battle, the conflict escalates to a fever pitch on the final day, with a tragic result that no one could have predicted. (Sundance Film Festival)

englanti A pretty nice animated film that doesn't surprise with its development, but luckily captivates with its humor, which is pretty well done in some places, even though the punchlines are sometimes expected too early. But that doesn't matter so much because you will laugh a little, be a little moved emotionally - really just a little - and in the end, it will all be over and you won't make a big deal out of it. Simply a decent average. ()

englanti This movie is not bad, although I knew how it would end because it was quite predictable when the opening credits showed that it was a remake of the 1984's Movie The Dog Who Stopped the War. Just the title alone hinted at what the punchline would be, and I had not even seen the original movie. The animation was not completely flawed, and I quite liked the music. The characters did not annoy me in any way, and even the childhood romance line was not outright stupid (even though it was not flashy either). Sure, they exaggerated a lot of things, and I would quite like to meet the genius who can build such a mechanical snow fortress in real life or maybe see something like that sometimes, however, this is a movie mainly for kids so that I can turn a blind eye to it. Likewise, the humor was pretty unpretentious, although I did not notice it much. All in all, it's a "does not please, does not offend" movie for me. 5/10. ()
