Juonikuvaukset(1)

This sci-fi about a duo of aliens that visit planet Earth to study the mankind turns into a satire of Czechoslovak Normalisation Society. In Lipský's unjustly half-forgotten comedy excels the authorial comedy duo from Slovakia: Milan Lasica and Július Satinský. (Summer Film School)

englanti At first it seems like the sort of insufferable folk satire that looks with an ironic sneer at our simple human endeavors, which is always a totally unbearable practice. Fortunately, thanks to censor interference in the second half, the film devolves into a deliciously Dadaist jumble of exaggerated situations and confused performances by characters and actors alike. This brings it close to the benchmarks of Czechoslovak Dadaist sci-fi, The Flying Saucers Over Velky Malikov City or The Monster from the Arcana Galaxy, its main problem being that it doesn't rise to their level of feverishness. englanti "If the same laws apply in the universe as on Earth, then the eventual inhabitants of other planets would have to be as stupid as we are." In this film, the world of Vladimír Jiránek, until then known only from cartoons and films, came to life. The city is one big housing estate, vending machines dispense food and drink of all kinds, a giant landfill separates the city from a nature reserve with fixed opening hours, where an automatic crystal fountain gurgles for money and bears stand in line for food. Really good, especially when the central characters are played by Milan Lasica and Július Satinský. Jiránek's typical humor is well complemented by Lipsky's follies... It just could have been shorter, to make a few of the dead scenes disappear. Three and a half. ()
