Planet Infinity

Planet Earth is in imminent danger, and every second that passes reduces the chances that humanity will survive. Scientists continue to discover new warning signs. How might the Earth look in both the near and the distant future? Momoko Seto’s experimental animation uses 360-degree technology to present possible post-apocalyptic versions of the planet Earth. The spectator becomes a mere speck of dust, rising and falling in relation to the surrounding environment. The natural elements play with him, and he thus discovers which organisms play the lead role in a given area. He encounters those organisms that are most resistant to climate change and capable of adapting to any environment – from mushrooms to the most extraordinary animals of the deep. The entire excursion is supplemented with even more of the filmmaker’s fantastical views of the post-apocalyptical world. How close is “Planet 8” to the real future our Earth faces? (One World)
