Flights to Mars went out of fashion years ago. Now the only reminder of these ambitious trips is an abandoned base inhabited by a very lonely robot. The silence and tranquility of the red planet is eventually disturbed, however, by a privately-funded Czech crew, whose members have taken on the mission for very different reasons. The trip’s patron, for example, is trying to fulfill a promise to his fiancée by marrying her right on the Martian surface… A romance, moments of absurd comedy, and an existential take on colonizing outer space – all this is the unique Czech motion picture Trash on Mars, set inside an authentic simulated Mars habitat. Do you know how to artificially increase the percentage of movie ratings here on FilmBooster? Very easy. Upload three five-star reviews in a row from freshly created profiles, each of which has only one single review, preferably around three in the morning, so that no one notices. That viewers of Mars, or perhaps fans of Benjamin Tuček, quite by chance, get together in the wee hours, after, quite by chance setting up accounts with a rating of around 200 late at night, so that they can verbally rate, and the first comment they write is on Mars, and everyone agrees on the rating? And they just happened to do it 20 minutes of each other? Really? I'm a night owl, and I couldn't miss this tonight. It's terribly funny and I'm just asking myself a question and it should be asked by Mr. Benjamin Tuček or his supporters: are these shenanigan necessary? :o)

Confused, badly told, and incredibly inconsistent nonsense without a plot. In every facet, from the directing and the acting, to the catastrophic editing and dialogues, the film fails in such an epic way that it could be recommended as a bizarre curiosity, but otherwise hardly. Only about five jokes are relatively decent, and all the rest of the humor misses the mark so badly that it's often not even clear what the humor was supposed to be. I can't even really decide what to call the imaginary icing on the cake on this nonsensical cesspool - whether it’s the would-be cowboy-styled narrator, the horrible English of all of the protagonists, or rather the final twist, which turns all of previous events on their head, but because none of the characters react to it, in the end it is almost swept under the rug unnoticed.
