Veijo Haukka (Matti Onnismaa) on mekaanikko, joka sivutyökseen lopettaa vanhoja ja sairaita lemmikkejä. Pienet eläimet hän kaasuttaa pakokaasulla ja isommat ampuu pistoolilla. Veijo on karusta hommastaan huolimatta eläinten puolella. Lemmikkien omistajia kohtaan Veijo ei ole yhtä armollinen. Petri Kettu (Jari Virman) tuo Veijolle koiran lopetettavaksi ja mies ottaa tehtävän vastaan tottuneesti. Veijon sydän kuitenkin heltyy ja hän ottaa koiran omakseen. Kuin varkain Veijon usko ihmisyyteen palaa ja hänen sydämestään löytyy pieni tila jopa rakkaudelle. Mutta kun koira, jonka pitäisi olla kuollut, onkin yhä elossa, riita entisen ja nykyisen omistajan välillä eskaloituu väkivaltaisiin mittasuhteisiin ja tarinan ainoa viaton osapuoli on koira. A typically crazy affair from Finland, where the main hero is a “real” hero. He actually euthanizes animals that had sad lives and their time to die is approaching. Or at least that’s the way he sees it. He helps them a little, speeds up their ordeal, and every now and then cashes in some money. But since he is a loner, and a bit of a freak, it’s only a matter of time before a group of Finnish assholes starts holding a grudge against him. So, what appeared in the beginning as a loner drama which isn’t for everybody evolves into an unexpected murder spree. It is definitely a movie that isn’t for everyone, though, and the Finns once again show that their cinematography is the strangest in Scandinavia and once again it goes to a bit different direction than the European mainstream would allow.

A strange indie affair from Finland. The film is about a man who is not very popular in the city, he makes a living by killing pets that the owners want to put down, because it's cheaper than a vet. While most of the horror takes place off-screen, it still has a quite disturbing feel to it, and even hits the gas unexpectedly at the end. Dog owners will probably smash the screen with nerves at the end. A strange, slower paced but fairly original drama/thriller. It was good for one viewing. 60%
