When the illegal human experiments of Korea’s biggest Pharmaceutical company go wrong, one of their “undead” test subjects escapes and ends up in a shabby gas station owned by the Park family – a band of misfits spanning three generations who hustle passers-by to make ends meet. When the Park family uncover their undead visitor, he bites the head of their household, who instead of transforming into an undead ghoul becomes revitalised and full of life! The family then hatch a plan to exploit this unexpected fountain of youth, allowing locals to pay to be bitten too, until things go wrong. (Arrow Films)

South Korea once again brings an original breath of wind to the zombie genre and even though the film is conceived more as a comedy, the story is certainly engaging. A pharmaceutical company conducting illegal experiments creates one zombie who wanders into a strange family, the Parks, who discover that after being bitten people get younger, and start profiting from it. Lots of originality with lots of interesting ideas (a zombie in love). There's one legendary scene at a gas station that turns into an absolute rave techno party with zombies that had me in stitches. Too bad the film doesn't offer too many horror attractions. It's not gory at all and not thrilling either, but those who like the zombie genre and welcome an original take should give it a chance. The visuals and acting are spot on. Story****, Action**, Humor***, Violence*, Entertainment****, Music***, Visual****, Atmosphere**, Suspense***. 6/10.
