englanti 52nd KVIFF – Probably the biggest festival experience of this year. I already got used to the Turks making very rough and interesting movies that often get my attention. Even then, More has a few moments I could do without. For example, the countdown of days to the end of the story did nothing for me, and just the same I didn’t fully understand the retrospective narration of the main character who entered the film about three times, and it would have been quite the same without them. On the other hand, I was fascinated by the music of the movie that used mournful melodies to create a very powerful and depressive atmosphere, which got thicker by the minute until it reached its climax in the finale of the movie. Maybe I expected the finale to be a tad rougher, but I was hard-pressed to recover from the film. The Turks thus, once again, convinced me that their movies must be taken into account in the future.
