The actors try quite hard, especially Thomas Haden Church wants to show that he is a good actor, which he is. The filmmakers also tried to come up with quite an interesting theme. But in the end, this is more of an imperfect thing that tries to attack your emotions. The finale felt somewhat obligatory to me; it could have been very different and better.
