15-vuotias puolalainen Wojtek matkustaa vanhempiensa kanssa Ruotsiin poimimaan mansikoita. Määränpää on Listerlandet Itämeren rannalla Blekingessä, Etelä-Ruotsissa. Siellä Wojtek tutustuu isännän tyttäreen Anneliin, ja nuoret alkavat tapailla salaa, mutta suhdetta vaikeuttaa heidän keskinäinen epätasa-arvonsa. Anneli ei uskalla näyttää avoimesti tunteitaan koska tietää, ettei ympäristö hyväksyisi heidän suhdettaan. Wojtekin mielestä Anneli leikkii hänen tunteillaan. Lopulta heidän suhteensa paljastuu, mikä johtaa voimakkaisiin reaktioihin. (Kinoscreen)

I am not at all surprised the Swedes took this topic because their movies often have a hint of self critique in them. It is very interesting to observe the behavior of the Swedes and the Poles from the very beginning of this film. All of them make many mistakes so you won’t be surprised by the consequences of their actions in the end of the movie. The bad thing is that I don’t even know whether they learned their lesson or not. I believe it’s not the question of your nation but of the environment. However, you can clearly see how the Swedes see themselves as a superior nation, unlike the Poles. It is difficult to like the Poles though, because half of their extras look like soccer hooligans. Well, I’ve always liked these nation comparisons in the films.
