englanti This is the beautiful combination of homosexuality and melancholy that inspired Anne Rice's modern vampire saga, setting the stage for the current face of the genre that continues to this day. The last novel so far is the long-awaited "Prince Lestat." ()

englanti The original film is not without its faults... And this one is a little worse. But it’s not bad, and in places is briskly courageous. Above all, Gloria Holden is excellent, and her countess, who would like to get rid of the family curse but doesn't know if it’s possible, was a joy to watch. It’s just too bad she got a lot less space than Dr. Garth’s lemonade romance with his assistant, which I would be happy to remove, or at least properly intertwine. ()

englanti The American horror film Dracula's Daughter primarily focuses on the theme of a curse and how its bearer is definitely not happy with how her life has changed, what she carries with her and what her needs are. There are already hints in this film of what is quite standard for a female vampire horror film - lesbian elements. But female vampires also stretch back into literary history, where they got space earlier than in film. ()
