Kolmen Oscar-palkinnon komedia kauniista leskestä, ikävystyttävästä sulhasesta ja komeasta pikkuveljestä amerikanitalialaisessa perheyhteisössä, kun täysikuu herkistää New Yorkin ääriviivat. (MTV3)

englanti Moonstruck is essentially a perfect romantic comedy, complete with all the stereotypes of the 80s. Unbelievable dialogue, great performances, and a beautiful atmosphere. Everything is connected by Puccini's "La bohème," and it doesn't matter that the mother of the Italian immigrant family is played by Greek actress Olympia Dukakis, or that Nicolas Cage found himself in the era of admiration for acting according to the Actors Studio. Together, it creates such a great and compact whole that can only be admired. I especially enjoyed Cher. ()

englanti Very cool, but ......... Best Picture nomination and an Oscar for Cher??? Why not Arnold for Predator in the male category then? I really liked the absurd ending and the use of opera music, but the theatrical feeling and the totally unsatisfying characters, led by the obnoxiously overacting Cage, just didn't work for me. And am I the only one who's always found Cher kind of ..... ugly? :) ()

englanti Given that the film was awarded three Oscars, I probably had overly high expectations. In terms of acting, it's interesting; Cher is great, but Cage also has a good role that just suited him at the time. Overall, though, this modern fairytale from the real world didn't quite captivate me as much. It's nice, it has a good ending, but it didn’t knock me off my feet. ()
