Valley of the Gods

The film weaves together three narrative threads: the first one is an archaic legend of the Navajo Indians, about gods who populate the Valley of the Gods as rock monuments. The second one is the story of the wealthiest man, Wes Tauros. Suffering from a personal tragedy, Tauros lives hidden away from the world and makes a public appearance only from time to time. The third story is that of the narrator, John Ecas, who works as a copywriter at Tauros’s company. After a traumatic split from his wife and looking for a way out of a dead end, John starts writing his boss’s biography and accepts an invitation to his mansion. At this time Tauros’s company, which mines uranium ore, buys the Valley of the Gods to bore tunnels through the sacred land. The shattered peace of Navajo ancestors makes the rocks give birth to an avenger… A fascinating, mysterious, beautiful and peculiar vision of America. (Warsaw Film Festival)
