(Future film)

englanti Everything is sometimes for the first time, so I first encountered the work of Jacques Tati. I must say that I expected an interesting film, which I definitely got. If a person likes grotesque humor that sometimes goes into the absurd, then this is exactly the film for you. Monsieur Hulot, portrayed by the creator himself, who is considered a genius by many, is a character that can be considered both main and supporting. He intertwines throughout the entire film and you will not be sure if he is the catalyst of events or their direct cause. An incredible character that you will either fall in love with or find completely unnecessary. It must be said that as a director and screenwriter, Tati is just as interesting as his character. The visual aspect with its individual ideas is simply perfect, and the best part is the house in which the family lives, around which the story primarily revolves. Incredibly modern, pseudo-functional household is actually just for show and completely impractical, it is supposed to show that this is a family that "has it all". It doesn't work properly, communication between them is almost unnecessary, they don't solve anything, until Monsieur Hulot comes along, something starts happening, something changes. In reality, he is a critique of frivolity, of a society that pretends to be something it is not. "My Uncle" is not a film that will make you laugh to tears, that's not the point; it's more about whether it can accept you into its world and allow you to see yourself a bit critically.
