IMT Smile and Lucnica: Made in Slovakia

A documentary look at a fully integrated joint performance by two of Slovakia's most popular ensembles – the rock band IMT Smile and the folkdance company Lúčnica. The film provides an up-close view of the unique project's exacting logistical and artistic demands, as well as its conception and production, the results of which swept the entire country off its feet, even reaching beyond its borders into the neighbouring Czech Republic. Under the direction of Ján Ďurovčík, the combination of Lúčnica's traditional folkdance and music with the contemporary sounds of IMT Smile, helmed by charismatic vocalist Ivan Tásler, left audiences far from cold. The captivating strains of Slovak folk music mingled with the melodies of Prešov's premiere pop group got concertgoers up off their seats and dancing.
