englanti The Hungarians present the case of a brutal serial killer who murdered young women in 1960s socialist Hungary. It is a very nice surprise that captures the story, the atmosphere and the form of treatment, and the case itself is more than interesting. A sleazy killer is based around the Hungarian countryside, picking off random victims while an innocent guy is wrongly convicted and stuck in prison. The murders are pretty decently brutal and the killer even likes to strip his women, and I really enjoyed the young determined cop who tries to catch the killer while proving the innocence of the wrongly convicted man. A very decent piece of work from Hungary. 75% ()

englanti I could easily say that this is one of the best Hungarian films that can be even compared to the recent big European criminal stories. The Hungarians are telling the story of a strangler from a town called Martfü in a very grand way and it shows. I believe that the film made quite an impact when it entered the cinemas because some scenes are very raw and it is great for the movie. They are shocking and evidently meant to be. It’s a pity that some parts in the film look like the most common German crime films. The main character of a strangler acts illogically and makes the audience confused. Until now, I am not sure whether he was genius or simply lucky not to be caught sooner. The main problem are the detectives who are as unexperienced as if this were their first case. Overall, I have to admit this is a great movie. Well done, Hungary! ()

englanti This is a very unpleasant crime film that is particularly good in the way it manages to portray individual crimes. They're not necessarily explicit, although that does happen, but it's how they will affect you that makes them really uncomfortable. When there are more explicit moments, they are really uncomfortable to watch. ()
