englanti Though this drama about the hardships of adolescence and searching for one’s identity amidst harsh conditions and family troubles is sensitively directed and acted, its screenplay is not very innovative and is thus nothing we haven’t seen before. However, the film makes good use of visually attractive Icelandic locations. Right between three and four stars. ()

englanti I’m not saying that the film is a masterpiece that I'm planning on rewatching every other day (fans of the action genre should avoid it entirely), but I enjoyed the plot, atmosphere, and setting throughout. The film is about adolescence and sexual awakening and the young actors were really convincing in it. Although the film also contains the now practically inevitable gay storyline, it felt okay here. It didn’t seem forced onto the plot, so it didn't smack of political correctness. In fact, it made it all enjoyably human. ()
