Sarasota, "Circus Capital of the World", owes much of its unique identity to the performers who reside and retire here. Director Viveka Melki visits the tight-knit community of retired and semi-retired circus artists to show us how they live now, at the end of their careers. AFTER CIRCUS is a deeply moving look at the endearing, amusing characters who support each other and continue to live "in circus" long after the spotlight and applause have faded. Archival film clips give a dream-like quality to this story that culminates with footage of an exquisite 2015 Circus Sarasota performance by Dolly Jacobs, "Queen of the Air." (Sarasota Film Festival)
