Miracolul din Tekir

The black mud of the Danube delta is supposed to have healing effects for female fertility. In the isolated countryside where mystical traditions and legends have passed from one generation to another prevail over modern thinking, the mud is collected only by female healers. When a young healer gets pregnant and claims that it happened without a man touching her, she must leave her village. She finds a job as the nurse of a wealthy woman who is trying for a child with the help of both the mud and a young gigolo. The poetic film presents a fascinating picture of a landscape in whose alien, dreamlike beauty, a myth meets modern world and the mystery of women's fate. (Febiofest)
