I like the legend of the Monkey King, but what the f**k was this? This is visually so ugly - especially those masks are so disgusting - that it's sometimes hard to watch. Moreover, from the perspective of the legend, the movie doesn't bring anything new at all. A few digital tricks somewhat revive it, but unfortunately, that's all. Very poorly done production.
