In February 2013, Anaïs, a French fashion student living in London, stumbled upon a YouTube video featuring Samantha, an actress in Los Angeles, and was struck by their uncanny resemblance. Upon further research, Anaïs made a shocking discovery: they were born on the same day in Busan, Korea and both put up for adoption a few months later. Soon after, Anaïs reached out to Samantha via Facebook message. After endless conversations via Skype, Facebook, WhatsApp messages, the girls made plans to find out if they were a biological match. In this directorial debut for Samantha Futerman and Ryan Miyamoto, Twinsters takes viewers on an honest journey to meet Samantha's potential identical twin sister, offering a first person perspective on a seemingly unheard of experience. As Samantha and Anaïs begin sisterhood together, they explore the meaning of family and how one should always be willing to expand their thinking to accommodate life's unexpected events.
