Marjoleine Boonstra's feature debut focuses on the search for the meaning of life in a landscape of drought and wind. A young man decides to change his lifestyle and make a journey to his native country, Kyrgyzstan. The poetic film is dominated by details of elements – water and wind, which the director uses to remind us of the connection with nature, which is stronger than it might seem in some parts of the world. The documentary director tells the story of searching for lost direction through heady imagery, emphasising seemingly trivial scenes of the lives of ordinary yet strikingly resilient people.
